We are so happy to announce our fall family sessions for 2015! To book your session please visit our booking website.
This year we have added two NEW locations to our menu, Bergey’s Breakbasket and Back Bay Farms!
Bergey’s is a family owned farm on the way to Chesapeake. They have beautiful rustic barns, a corn maze and a pumpkin patch. This session would be perfect for young families with active kiddos. The backdrops are beautiful, and your family would have a great time on their farm after your session. These sessions will take place on Saturday, October 24th from 2-5pm.
On the evening of Sunday October 25th, we will be shooting in southeast VB for our fall color sessions. This deep wooded location offers beautiful golden sunlight and high fall color. There is a little bridge, paved pathways and a beautiful open field with tall grass. Sessions will be from 2-5pm.
On Sunday, November 1st we will be at our new location of Back Bay Farms. This quaint horsefarm is right at the start of Pungo, across from our family favorite Pungo Pizza! These shoot will be simple and intimate on their long dirt road that is lined with beautiful trees! Perfect for your family photos!
Sunday, November 8th we will be visiting our Chesapeake Fall Color location. This location provides rich deep greenery with a pop of fall color! It is nestled in the woods and sure to be a favorite family place to visit! The paths are perfect for family photos.
Finally on Sunday, November 15th we will be in our fan favorite location of Freemason street in Norfolk. This urban location provides countless amazing backdrops for family photos! From the cobblestone streets to the wrought iron fences and the beautiful doors, the possibilities are endless. We keep a fast pace here and your kiddos are sure to have fun!
Today would have been my brother’s 35th birthday! I’m not here to mourn his loss, nor have you feel sorry for me. I’m here to celebrate his LIFE and encourage you to celebrate yours! 14 summers ago Nick died in a tragic motorcycle accident that rocked our family to it’s core. You see when someone you love passes, all you are left with is your memories of them and tiny mementos. If you’re like me, you hold on to those mementos as best you can and they help you to remember. Because you see, from that moment on, there will be no new memories or things to hold on to.
Ok now before I get all sappy and do the ugly cry for you, let’s celebrate….celebrate the life that he lived and I was honored to share!
The photographs that I have of us, and of him are really what I cherish most. They take me back and help me remember.
I have a series of large quotes on the wall in the studio, and one of my favorites reads:
“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever…it remembers little things long after you have forgotten everything.”
And if you know me, I forget everything! But I have comfort in knowing that I can pull out the photographs I have of Nick and feel like I’m right back there with him…because that’s all we have!
So today, on his 35th birthday, I urge you to take photographs and PRINT THEM. Print them so that you can remember, print them so that you can look at them and your children can look at them. Don’t hide them on the USB or CD to be forgotten, PRINT THEM. Whether you snap a photo with your iphone, take your own with a friend or hire a professional photographer- TAKE MORE PHOTOS and PRINT THEM.
Celebrate your life now, while you are living it. Enjoy every moment you have with your family and friends, and display the photos you take for all to see.
Happy Birthday Nick, you will never be forgotten!
